City Centre Bustle, Dublin - 274
I tried to capture the atmosphere of a busy evening on O'Connell Street in the centre of Dublin city in this painting. The street is designated as 'An Lar' (meaning 'the centre' in Irish) on buses as it is a hub for a lot of the transport passing through Dublin city centre. In the background is the GPO building - the General Post Office - which took centre-stage of the Insurrection of Easter 1916. Painted with acrylic on a large 40x30 inch canvas.
Sometimes my interest is piqued and I like to research some of my painting subjects, especially Dublin street scenes and pubs and bars and am often amazed at some of the snippets of curious information I come across. Follow this link to read one or two about O’Connell Street ….
This painting is available as a Limited Edition run of 200 prints using Epson Archival inks on supreme quality Hahnemuhle Traditional Fine Art paper. See dropdown menu above to see size, price and framing options.
City center bustle
I feel it captures the spirit of Dublin on a rainy evening, the tri color adds a nice touch.
Beautiful city centre bustle
Looking at this picture makes my heart feel warm and fuzzy : ) It brings back memories of better times with my sisters, shopping, soaking up the atmosphere and then a bit of lunch and a vino in Wynn's Hotel. Its so familiar and comforting. I don't live in Dublin now but there's a little bit of Dublin in my sitting room in this striking picture. Thank you Chris.
The Perfect Gift
We bought this as a gift for an aunt who has many memories of this stretch of O'Connell Street. She loved it. It is produced to a very high quality and the colours are so vibrant. Packaging was excellent and dispatch was prompt. I fully recommend Chris and his paintings
I used to work on O'Connell Street back in the eighties so when I saw this image I knew I just had to have it as it evoked wonderful memories of a very happy time. I love the colour of the sky, the wet pavements and the hustle and bustle in the image - lovely. I ordered a framed print and it was very well packaged and safely delivered, a few days after I placed the order. I would have no hesitation in recommending Chris
Dublin at it's best
Chris has captured a stunning view of 'An Lar' bringing back lots of good memories of my home land. I love it's vibrancy, the stillness, and the beauty of a wet and busy evening. I bought this for my son and was very pleased with my purchase (as was he); the actual framed print is MUCH more beautiful than the website illustration. I had a slight issue with PayPal but Chris instantly resolved it. Excellent service. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris.
Exactly what we wanted - and great service
This frame found its place beside the two other frames we ordered to remember our time living in Dublin. We love the style of Chris, and this is really nice pieces of work. We also ordered the frames from France and got them delivered quickly and in perfect condition at home.
