A man walks with his faithful dog beside him in this acrylic painting on canvas. The stony path winds between the trees towards open countryside, with patches of sunlight catching the grass and foliage along the way.
I approached this composition a little differently from my usual forest scenes. Here, the man is walking out of the woodland, while we remain among the trees looking on. I wanted it to feel as though we had quietly happened upon his daily walk, observing a familiar routine shared with his companion.
