A man and his collie share a quiet moment in this watercolour painting, seated together beside a stone wall. Soft grasses and subdued colours surround the pair, keeping the attention on their easy companionship.
The idea came from an old black-and-white photograph taken in the west of Ireland, which I decided to interpret in colour. The original later found a particularly fitting home: my best friend from childhood bought it, long after we had lost touch. I guess we too had been 'Faithful Friends' :-)
