Bluebells carpet the woodland floor in this acrylic painting on canvas, set in Moore Abbey Woods, County Kildare. A couple walk close together beneath an umbrella, following the path between the trees.
Woodland bluebells are one of my favourite subjects, especially around May when the spring greens are still so vibrant. I like to include a couple to give the eye a focal point and add a romantic dimension — a quiet moment together among all that colour.
