Trinity College’s glowing windows overlook a busy College Green in this acrylic painting of Dublin. Trees frame the view, with people beneath umbrellas crossing the rain-washed street and buses adding warm colour to the scene.
For this roadside view, I wanted to include both the larger and smaller Dublin buses stopped at the pedestrian lights. They gave me another opportunity to bring light and interest into the composition. The bus colours also place the painting in its own time — something that becomes more noticeable as the livery changes over the years.
