This painting captures the Mercantile Hotel at one of Dublin’s busiest intersections on Dame Street, a place that is rarely still.The newly refurbished building glows like a beacon in the night, lighting up the streets below. On the right is the Spar convenience store, known locally as Gay Spar, due I guess to the fact that the gay friendly bar The George is next door.
