Seapoint Walk - 924
A painting of people walking along the rough promenade at Seapoint, on the east coast of Dublin, very popular with bathers when the weather permits. The Martello tower featured in this seascape is one of 50 built in Ireland by the British in the 1800's in defense of an anticipated possible Napoleonic invasion. In this painting the rocks have been uncovered by the receding tide, which adds extra interest to the composition.
