An elevated viewpoint from across the bay helped greatly in this painting of Kinsale harbour, County Cork, by being able to show the moored boats and the landscape behind and above this beautiful picturesque town, which I could not have achieved from any other place I think.
Luckily a friend had told me of this little road and vista before I had visited the place! A little invaluable local knowledge.
