Three musicians perform some traditional Irish music outside an Irish pub using a bodhran, tin whistle and banjo. Known locally as a 'trad session', these musical 'get togethers' can take place inside or outside a pub, and can include guitars, fiddles, accordion, spoons, concertina and uilleann pipes, as well as the wonderful human voice. The Harp is the national instrument of Ireland ... but it's a bit big to be lugging around town unfortunately! The sessions are usually unscripted 'open mic' type of evenings and the musicians and players do it free and the love of music.
