Crowds gather where Grand Parade meets Patrick Street in this acrylic painting on canvas of Cork city. Umbrellas break up the busy scene, while glowing windows cast warm reflections across the cool blues of the wet street.
I painted a series of Cork scenes for an art fair there some years ago. A trip to the city to gather reference photographs gave me plenty of subjects to choose from, and this meeting point of two familiar streets was an obvious choice.
