On a family holiday in the town of Lucca in Tuscany, Italy, I spent time cycling around with my camera. There were so many sights worth painting, but this tiny café, tucked between shops in a terrace, really caught my eye. I loved the building, its shutters and the umbrellas over the tables.
We stopped for a cappuccino and something sweet, served by waiters in traditional black and white outfits. Those uniforms made a lovely contrast with the surrounding colours, and I included them in this small acrylic painting on canvas.
