I have painted this view of Bray promenade a couple of times. The railings and the sweep of the seafront provide lovely leading lines, drawing the eye towards the couple leaning against the railings, with Bray Head rising behind them.

This was another painting made with water-mixable oils. I used a more muted palette than usual, which I felt suited the mood of the damp day. The couple and their umbrella bring a little warmth to the scene, a quiet romantic moment beside the sea.
