The Campanile Belltower in Parliament Square, Trinity College, Dublin was  designed by Sir Charles Lanyon and built in 1853, and is a widely recognized symbol representing the college.

It stands nearly 100 feet tall. Over each of the four archways of the Campanile there are carvings of Homer, Plato, Demosthenes and Socrates.

In this acrylic painting I wanted to capture the old and the new with a scene busy with people treading the ancient cobblestones of Parliament Square.
