A colourful acrylic painting of a view of the main facade of Leinster House from the main gates on Kildare Street, Dublin. The building is the meeting place of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann, the two houses of the Oireachtas, the centre of Irish politics.
Leinster House was the headquarters for the Duke of Leinster and his predecessors up until 1922. In the 18th century it was known as “Kildare House”. The first and second floors were used as the inspiration for the White House which was designed by James Hoban an Irish architect.
A number of American presidents have visited and spoken there including John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan.
