A friend of mine once told me just before my first trip to Venice, Italy that as you put the camera up to your eye to take a photograph you will probably stop and say ' hang on a minute, I have seen that before '.
And it was true that pretty much all the sights in my viewfinder I had seen somewhere in the past as it is probably one of the most photographed and documented cities in the world.
And not without reason! The Grand Canal, Venice from the Rialto Bridge, with moored gondolas, is my first attempt at capturing this Italian gem as a painting on canvas!
