An acrylic painting of Piccadilly Circus, London with the famous Shaftesbury Memorial statue, erected in 1892, sculpted by Alfred Gilbert

Although the statue is generally known as Eros, it was created as an image of Anteros, his brother.

The fountain and statue were commissioned to commemorate the philanthropic works of Lord Shaftesbury, who was a famous Victorian politician and philantrophist.

This junction is a busy tourist attraction and meeting place, being close to major shopping, theatre  and entertainment areas of London's West End, as evidenced in this painting , busy with traffic, people and neon signs.
