Seen from the road above, Coumeenole Strand curves beneath rugged green slopes in this acrylic painting on board. Small figures dot the beach, with the blue Atlantic stretching beyond the sand and rocky headland on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry.
I found this viewpoint while looking down towards the beach and thought it would make a lovely painting. I particularly liked how the tiny people helped you judge the scale of the view. There was also a natural line through the landscape that carried the eye across the slopes and down towards the shore.
