People come and go across the Ha’penny Bridge in this view looking north over the River Liffey. Umbrellas, lamplight and reflections fill the scene, capturing the everyday movement between Dublin’s north and south sides.
The original was a small acrylic painting, and I kept the brushwork loose, suggesting details with simple strokes. I started with a reddish-mauve base and let it show through the later layers of paint, bringing a thread of warmth through the buildings, figures and rain-washed foreground.
