The deep blue frontage and warm window light give this painting of the Bottler’s Bank pub in Rathgar, Dublin, its character. Figures chatting outside and a passer-by bring a sense of everyday life to the scene.

I painted the original as a commission during Covid, when the pub was closed. Working with the reference material I had, I imagined the atmosphere of the place with people around it again, bringing warmth and company back to the quiet frontage.
