Martin B. Slattery’s occupies a corner of busy Rathmines, Dublin, its traditional frontage full of detail. In this acrylic painting on canvas, the illuminated windows draw attention to the little objects displayed on the shelves, while people pass outside.
Those window displays gave me plenty to work with, adding interest and character to the painting. Inside, the beautiful old wooden details are another attraction — I hope to make a painting of the interior some day.
