A painting ofNeary's bar on Chatham Street, Dublin just off Grafton Street where the barmen wear white shirts and bow ties and the atmosphere is mellow ... a nice place for a quiet 'pint of plain'. It is a favourite haunt of performers from the nearby Gaiety Theatre and indeed there is a private back door that leads to same.
The original name for the pub dates back to 1887 where records show a man named Thomas Neary owned the pub and the name was never changed. Neary’s has a working dumb waiter that has been in use since 1957.
