Famous  Mulligans pub on Poolbeg Street, Dublin, much loved by Dubliners and famed for it's wonderful Guinness. With a history spanning over two hundred years the pub has hosted celebrities such as Judy Garland, Seamus Heaney, Con Houlihan, James Joyce and John F. Kennedy.

Mulligans was among many other pubs in Ireland known as Shebeens. Shebeens were pubs that operated illegally and without a licence to serve alcohol. It has been operating legally however since the year 1782.

In this acrylic painting on stretched canvas I focused on the wonderful signage, the warm inviting interior and the few customers drinking outside braving the cool evening, painted mainly with a warm palette of reds, oranges and yellows.
