My painting of Fusciardi's tries to capture a warm and inviting cafe and chipper on a cold winter evening on Marlboro street in Dublin's city centre. The focus of the painting is a couple leaning on the window outside, enjoying their steaming freshly made chips, salt and vinegar no doubt, lit by a warm yellow-orange glow that spills out from the cafe window onto the pavement. Inside, customers are seated at tables, enjoying their food, glad to be out of the cold. The painting, I hope, captures the essence of this beloved cafe, preserving a moment in time for future generations to enjoy.
