Café en Seine Bar, Dawson Street, Dublin - 64
This painting of Cafe en Seine, Dawson Street, Dublin was painted a while ago when they had the red and white candystripe awnings instead of the present day livery. It is a lively pub on three floors and has a three storey atrium with glass panelled ceiling, huge trees and lanterns .... a very chic and trendy city centre bar. I used mauves and blues in this painting to contrast against the warm glowing colours in the windows and the people with umbrellas almost silhouetted against the golden windows.
Café en Seine first opened in the Nineties. It currently has over three floors after its refurbishment of Parisian Art Deco paradise but was recently bought (2018) and all the decorative pieces auctioned off. Have yet to see what the new management have done. Maybe an up to date painting is on the cards!
This painting is available as a Limited Edition run of 200 prints using Epson Archival inks on supreme quality Hahnemuhle Traditional Fine Art paper. See dropdown menu above to see size, price and framing options.
