A vibrant seascape acrylic painting of the Forty Foot Bathing place in Sandycove, County Dublin, once exclusively a gentleman's swimming club, on a lovely summer's day, with bathers diving into the cool blue ultramarine waters of Sandycove.

The Forty Foot is featured in a number of prominent Irish novels including James Joyce’s Ulysses and Brian O’Nolans “At-Swim-Two-Birds”. In Ulysses, one character describes the sea around the Forty Foot as “the snotgreen sea”.

Hasn't deterred the many Dubliners who brave it's icy waters all year round! Actually it seemed quite blue to me .
