Clontarf Castle, Dublin - 589
Painting of Clontarf Castle, on Castle Avenue, Clontarf,Dublin. Original castle built here around the 1200's but this version dates from the 1800's and has been modernised and extended quite recently. I painted this from an angle that would block out the new 'glassy' part as I just wanted to capture the older stonework. I used acrylics on stretched canvas.
Sometimes my interest is piqued and I like to research some of my painting subjects, especially Dublin street scenes and pubs and bars and am often amazed at some of the snippets of curious information I come across. Follow this link to read one or two about Clontarf Castle …

I bought the gorgeous print as a Christmas present for my son and daughter in law who were married at the castle earlier this year. They were absolutely thrilled with the gift as it brought back many wonderful memories for us all! Thank you Chris.
A special memory
A very special friend grew up in Artane in the 1970s and remembers this landmark as part of her youth. We recently rediscovered it as a first class hotel and restaurant and just finished a wonderful two weeks there. We already have two McMorrow prints that are special memories and thought immediately of seeing if Chris has ever captured this special part of Dublin. Naturally, he had. And it is a beautiful and a perfect way to remember the history, the past, our trip and look forward to the future. As usual, the transaction was simple, fast and efficient.
I bought this as a present for my sister who lives in the U.S. Originally from Clontarf (beside the castle). Customer service was brilliant. Included Christmas Greeting on the back of print. My sister was very happy with her present and it takes pride of place in her house. No problems with delivery. Excellent service.
Great authentic painting of the castle where I got married lovely colorful picture, great artist.
I think that the castles keep the spirit of the times, and Clontarf Castle is one of them (despite the fact that there is now a hotel). Аnd Chris in his painting was able to pass it on. This painting of Chris took a worthy place in my Irish room, although I live in the Middle East.
I bought this painting for a friend who had just purchased a property in Clontarf. She was thrilled with it (as was I) and it now takes pride of place on her walls. It was the second painting that I purchased from Chris.
Clontarf Castle Print
My wife and I stayed at the Clontarf Castle hotel for our honeymoon, so the painting was a perfect anniversary gift. My wife absolutely loved the print. Chris made it quick and easy to purchase, even for us in the US.
