Trinity View, Dublin – 422

Trinity College’s front entrance and illuminated windows overlook College Green in this acrylic painting of Dublin. Sycamore branches frame the scene, while people beneath umbrellas cross the wet street and reflections spread across the foreground.

Getting the reference photograph involved a quick dash into the middle of the street while the traffic lights were red. From that viewpoint, I could include the lovely lamp adorned with dolphins on the left. I particularly liked the way the foliage naturally framed the college, bringing the whole composition together.
