The tower was rented by Joyce’s college friend Oliver Gogarty (Buck in Ulysses) Oliver rented it with the desire to turn it into a temple for the worship of the Greek Gods.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJames Joyce stayed in the tower for six days leaving early according to Gogarty due to an incident involving a gun.
